Camping Playa Brava, in the heart of the Costa Brava, is set within the nature reserve of Les Basses d’en Coll at just 45 minutes from the French border. Playa Brava has direct access to a beautiful sandy beach, with beach bars and a water sports centre. A river runs alongside the campsite and where it enters the sea forms a shallow bathing area. The campsite offers a range of sporting activities and its entertainment team organises competitions, water games and inflatable amusements in high season. The swimming pools have grassy sunbathing areas providing a perfect place to relax. Overlooking the pool is the restaurant/bar terrace which hosts lively discos in high season. There are many historic towns to visit including Pals itself, with its pretty cobbled streets and excellent Catalan restaurants. Just south of Pals, the rocky coastline lends itself to some excellent snorkelling at beautiful bays like Sa Riera and Aiguablava. A day in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, should include a visit to Las Ramblas and Gaudi’s incredible La Sagrada Família cathedral.
