Camping Playa Joyel is a first class resort, situated between the ports of Bilbao and Santander, on the stunning coastline of the Costa Verde. This friendly campsite enjoys a perfect location; next to the wide golden sands of the Playa Joyel beach and backed by the green hills of Cantabria. The magnificent sandy beach with its rocky outcrops is ideal for snorkelling and, at low tide, rock pooling. There can be a good surf for body boarders and there is a tidal creek for sheltered bathing. Camping Playa Joyel is quiet during low season but lively in July and August with regular entertainment. This spacious campsite provides a range of facilities including swimming pools, an animal park and an entire area dedicated to sports activities. Noja is just 2 miles away with restaurants, bars, shops and market. Santander is the historic capital of Cantabria and the former Royal Palace still occupies the beautiful Magdalena peninsula at the entrance to the bay. Tourist tax was not charged in 2023 but may be levied in 2024.

The maximum capacity allowed per pitch is 6 persons for all tents and 2-bedroom mobile homes and 7 persons for all 3-bedroom mobile homes.
